Ember Island Beach's Empty Ember Island Beach's

Post by Myindoh Tue Dec 18, 2012 9:44 pm

Two years ago

The mid-night sky fell upon the chilled beaches of Ember Island. Home to the rich and famous, or those lucky enough to vacation to such an exotic location. The moon was full and the sky's were cloudless. The sand on the beach glowed with it's white light. The water sloshed and rustled up the beach as it's tides rocked back and forth. The large body of was shimmered with the distorted reflection of the moon.
Within the wide, expansive beach, only one man stood on the grains of sand that hugged the bottoms of his shoes.

Pain...

The God who has always been, the one watched over the girl that he had called over to him. His purple eye's glowed against the moonlight as they looked across the water.
He remembered this place thousands of years ago when it was nothing more then an uncharted island until early fire benders had claimed the land for themselves. The girl who had called would be arriving shortly. In the mean time Pain simply waited by standing in place. This part of the beach was currently deserted, and was not a person in site.
All he could do was remain.

It was time's like these where he listened to the sounds of nature. Where he listened to the spirits that called from underneath the noise of water and wind. He could hear it all, he could focus it into a tangible sound that he could understand.
The spirits that remained here were of a vast variety. The one's he mostly listened to however, were the cries of the dead. Those that didn't quite make it to heaven.
Some were bitter, vicious or bloodthirsty, others were sad, crying, wiping away there tears as they roamed the lands of there past in hopes that could change the past.
As Pain listened to this, it reminded him why he was a God of Peace.
His ideals, his reasoning for doing the things he did, he had to explain them to his first disciple, his student.
She would have to come to understand. Pain had to remind himself first of why he was fighting, so that she to could understand him.
His thoughts had to go far back, so far back that he had to jump backwards of so many years that any human mind could almost not even comprehend it. The true beginning of all human beings.
The very first Avatar...Pain's close friend at the time. People were barely a step over being cave men at the time.
Pain could even recall his name, back when he was human. A foolish...Incompetent human being.

Yes...Yes that's was what he needed.
Just by remembering the past, he felt his passion grow. It was over the course of thousands of years that his personality has been molded and changed, through out it all, he had always maintained his memories of his beginning. His ideals of how to create peace were things he always questioned, if his logic was flawed, then how would others understand it?
He did this not out of blind thoughts of idealism, but hard facts. After watching humanity grow for as long as he did, he knew that one way to salvation for all of mankind.

So he waited, for Xira to join him. So he could show her the truth.

"I am only sixteen years old...yet I feel like I am destined to make a life changing choice.."

The sixteen year old walked the sandy beach that had been abandoned for some time now..well this part anyway. It had been eight years since she had met her Master and six since that fatal life changing day. Even then when she did not summon him he was there for her that night in her room while she had recovered. A very premature eel hound laid down staying behind knowing that she was in safe hands with this man.

Xira was not a dumb girl, her strategic mind surpassed her god fathers highest general. Even at times of riots or serious events within the nation he called upon her for advice and that had finally paid off. Xira was now one of the top generals in their nation. Her mother did not like the fact that she was attempting to discard womanhood, but her father on the other hand was now very proud of what she was. He constantly boasted or bragged while the fire lord had seen a significant change in her because of that man. He did not like it but only he could do so much..no one quiet understood what was going on inside her head since that day.

It would seem like her thoughts drifted her to the man that was waiting for her, time had flown by but he had not aged at all since that day. Her mind was overflowing with dozens of questions specifically for him. Of course he had seen potential in her, this girl wanted to help him with his vision. So it was time understand what his view was completely.

Her body stood next to his while her ears enjoyed the crashing of the waves and moonlit view. Everything was so peaceful already, why did Pain want to change this?

"Pain, are you living or are you suffering..?"

Xira continued to look at the ocean with no facial expression present.

Finally she had arrived. Within his mind he had asked the spirits to grant him there vision, they looked towards her and let Pain see through there eyes. He could see her without needing to turn his head. He could remember her birth, crying as a newborn. Watching her grow with a love for dance and fire bending. The first she had seen his face, how she looked at him with such amazement as thought it was the first time she had seen him. Yet to him, he had already seen her hundreds of times. The wound she had suffered on her back which made the biggest change in her. This change that she had undergone was what Pain had wanted. She needed it to be who she was now, so she could better understand his ideals.

She was full of questions, Liliana's song kept him informed on each of them. She had been busy, silently working with the spirit inside of her that kept her gene awakened.
God had plans for her, the Messiah who she had always remembered had finally returned to Xira. Yet out of all the questions she could ask, it was one that was geared towards his feelings.

"Suffering is optional to the cause...Pain is inevitable...Through it I am beyond alive." He replied, his eye's remaining locked onto the ocean. He had referred to how through Pain he was much more then alive.
"Through it all I have become God. It is pain that leads to this, to a true understanding bred from ascendency" He told her with his voice ever confident in what he was explaining.
Yet it was a very valid question that she had for him.
As he looked upon the calm, gentle ocean. How could one not think this world was already at peace?
He couldn't blame her for thinking that way. However she was smart for her age, smart to enough to understand now.
"But right now, looking at this ocean, and the time you live in, you want to know how something as awful as pain could be a remedy to a world already at peace?"
He inquired before turning to face her.
There was much to discuss, and much to show her.
He lifted his left hand up which facing the water. He extended his fingers out then pushed them forward slightly. As he did, it looked as the though tips of his fingers and had vanished, and as he pushed his hand farther in, more of his disappeared under a blanket of invisibility. Was it invisible though? No, far from it.
He slowly began to direct his hand downwards, as he did, the very air that he hand trailed down began to suffer a rip within it's very fabric. Like someone sticking a knife into a piece of cloth and pulling down to create a tear.
"I will answer that question. However in order to understand a God. You must see where that God came from...The Spirit World" He said rather ominously before he made a rip in the fabric of space big enough to enter followed by retracting his hand.
He then extended extended his right hand out to her. Similar to how he did to her when she had first met him.
"Come, let me show you the truth of this peace" He finished, waiting for her to take his hand so he could take her into the Spirit World.

Spirit world?

Something inside of Xira twinged a bit hearing those two words. It was tugging her heart strings and screaming at her to enter like a truth was there for her to see. The same beautiful voice that sung in her ear from time to time was the culprit. No, this was the exact same voice and as if being a puppet her hand subconsciously took his holding it in that same trusting way she had done when she was about eight years old.

In a matter of her eye battering the scenery was completely different, no more sound of the ocean tackling the shoreline or the wind whispering soothing lullabies in her ear. It was dead quiet where he had taken her, mist as far as the eye could see surrounded them. The sun was half set while her eyes witnessed a very large creature slithering past them.

The spirit world seemed so dangerous and yet so...relaxing and calm at the same time. For once a genuine smile plastered itself on her face. This was actually really neat! At only sixteen Xira was experiencing things no grown man could ever say he had seen or heard. But at the same time another voice insider her bellowed from no where. This one had been undetected by Liliana, it was a voice of authority..as if it was telling her to learn more about this world.

"Why..do we have to come here?"

Pulling her gently into the spirit world, they found themselves in what seemed like an endless fog. The quiet had overtaken the land, only the sounds of a large snake that slithered across the ground echoed through out the vast fog. Looking at his feet Pain could not even see the ground, it was though they were standing on the clouds.
He lightly let go of Xiras hand before taking a few steps forward, he took a deep breath in through his nose. He felt at home here, he felt at peace.
"Do you smell the air?" He asked her after he took a long breath in through his nose.
The air tasted sweet despite the rather cryptic look of the fog, to him it was about the equivalent of a child with a lolipop. They say that the air never tastes sweeter when you come back home after a long trip away. To her, since she did not quite have a taste for the world yet as her body could not properly process the air of the spirit world, her mind would process the taste as though it was her favorite food or drink. The real taste was an acquired flavor that took time to grasp. So for now, she would just smell something beautiful that she processed as a nice smell, followed by the taste as the air would hit the back of her tongue.

"I once beheld a boy who had ultimate power..." He said quietly to himself before taking a few steps forward. With each step, the land began to change. The fog had flown away, the sky began to grow black with stars appearing in the sky as though they were in space. The ground they stood on became green as grass began to grow from it's soil. The ground around them broke off and fell into an endless void that was below. Yet it was oh so quiet, no one would notice had the dust and rubble not been flying in the air before falling down. Eventually the sky started to brighten up from a large full moon that was right above there heads. It looked as though it was going to fall right on top of them.
3 large monolith like stones circled the large stone Pain and Xira stood on. Each monolith was pitch black and had different colored aura's surrounding them. One had a blue aura circling it, one with a red aura, and the other was green. Across from them, they would be able to see planet earth itself. Bright stars, as well as shooting stars surrounded them, somewhere around them was even a good view of the milky way.
Were they in space? No not quite, this was the spirit world still, but a far different plane within it.

Pain had waited and embraced it all as he stood in the middle of the grassy field they stood on. It was then that he turned around to face Xira. His eye's would no longer be glowing purple, yet they would look almost human, his aura was gone, his apperence did not change but there were subtle differences that made him appear more human.
In the spirit world, which his body had adapted to, he looked human here, as thought his body was at peace and didn't stand out. It was hear he looked the most normal. Even his piercing's were gone, his eye's looked normal as well, yet they were still purple. His hair was the same however.
"This was the first place I was taken to by my former master. The dragon I told you about. I was able to see the earth as a whole, and watch over everything. The spirits granted me the ability to see all. It was here that I became God" He explained to her while looking directly at her, looking away here and there to motion his hand to earth and the scenery around him.
Here was where he would teach her, she would learn what he learned. This was to be the first lesson however. Seeing the beauty of the world from a distance. Xira should count herself lucky, she would be the first human even to lay there eye's on planet earth from outside it's atmosphere. Not only that, but space itself.
It was this site alone that sparked change within Pain, he hoped it would do the same for her.

(OOC: Okay so after this I'll get to all the teaching stuff, just gonna let you react to this first. Don't wanna rush, but let the story just flow smoothly)

(I'm kinda half asleep so excuse me for the lack of detail or shortness)

This was a bit overwhelming for the sixteen year old. Was this all a dream? It had to be! There was no way that her honey colored eyes could witness something so amazing. The world was so beautiful and looked even more peaceful from this point of view.

Her master however, obviously felt like something needed to be done to obtain true peace. It tugged at her heart strings knowing all the peace and smiles were about to be disrupted for what again? Nothing was what she thought for now. Maybe Pain had a valid point he was going to get her to see within the next few hours of this teaching.

"I do not see...how you can become a God when you were human."

Xira was struggling to see this but in time the girl knew that he was going to explain it well enough for her to even understand.

"Spend thousands of years here, train and grow without the restrictions of age or time...You'd be surprise what can happen" He replied to her. Pain could recall the years of training with his former master, the black dragon that had showed him the way and trained him.
Facing Xira he let his mind communicate with the spirits here so that he could properly show her everything. Working with the spirits that were around them, and the spirit inside of her. He would begin to flood her mind with images of the beginning of mankind. To her would look like a vision.
"Witness the beginning" He would say before Xira would begin to see a beautiful lush forest, with people within the tree's that did not chop them down for lumber or grid them into paper, but they instead used energy bending to give life to more of the tree's. The Energy bending gave them control of the life force of all things, in turn they were able to help create and shape the world in anyway they chose.
"During the time that was before the Avatar, human's shaped the world with Energy bending. To bend one's energy was to bend the very life force within all things when mastered. The masters made the world with the intention of it to be full of ever lasting life. The wildlife, the nature, large oceans with life of it's own within." As he continued, each of his words spawned image's of what he was talking about. Mentioning energy bending there was a stream of green light that followed a black pathway, followed by image's of nature in all it's glory with the bright sun giving it an illumination of pure golden light.

"This is how the world we live in exists today. God gave birth the planet, then the energy benders populated it with life in many forms while working very closely with the spirit world." He explained before showing her new images of people that were starting to very loosely bend other elements. There was one man that seemed to make sparks come from his hands, but not full on fire. There was a woman who could make a pebble float in the air, followed by another that made a small gust of wind pass by the sparks and put them out with a laugh. Lastly there was a woman that stopped the drop of water that fell from a wet tree's leaves. Among them however, was one that had ball of fire in his hands, as well as a ball of water, a rock and a thick collection of air all in his one hand. This person however was only a boy, and standing beside him was another boy that had small spiky orange hair and a violet tint to his eye's.
"You see when the Energy bender's existed, people were a single group, they understood each other and maintained a perfect balance of peace and harmony with each other. Hatred never existed with them. They were creating the world with love and joy. However, when the Avatar came, although he was a child he introduced a very new but simple concept. What if, human beings could bend the elements? Although the Avatar came with this ability however, at first human beings were unable to attain the ability. So The Avatar had taught the animals first. He taught the Dragon's how to bend fire, the flying Bison's how to air bend and the badger moles how to earth bend. For water bending, the Avatar simply had to show everyone the moon and how it had such an effect of the oceans and lake of the earth, human being simply followed the same form that the moon had introduced by observing the pull of the moon on ocean tides. It was once he taught the animals those 3 elements, and humans how to water bend, that everyone else was eventually able to bend the 4 elements"
Images of people starting to bend the elements a little more skillfully started to show. With that there were images of people fighting for sport, pitting there abilities against one another in the form of combat, using the bending ability offensively.
"When The Avatar had first introduced bending, it was not with the intention to give people weapons, but for them to have a greater understanding of what they were building with Energy bending. However people merely complained that there energy bending was no longer needed as the world had already been created with so much life. The life around you that you would see today by simply walking outside. What the Avatar tried to convince them of was that they built a world they could not fully control. Energy bending allowed the bending of the life force, meaning they had the ability to either give, or take away life, but they were unable to care to the world they had created. Think of the world like a healthy man who become's sick. They were not able to cure him of his sickness, they could simply kill him, or replace the life with a new one. The equivalent of either killing the man, or replacing him with something else. Yet not curing, or helping him get better" Pain told her.
"Yet with there new abilities of bending the elements, humans began to...Lose care in the world, as they felt it was already as good as they could make it. It was by not caring for it anymore that began natural disaster's such as earth quakes, storms, winter cold or tornado's and tsunami's." He then began to display the image of 4 different groups of people. Each one group bending there own element and arguing with one another.
"Because no one person could bend all the element but only a single one. In time they grew a hatred for each other, at first it was for petty reasons such as who was stronger or more important with there element. In time it grew bigger though. In an attempt to separate the conflict and smother the embers of hatred, the 4 groups of benders split into 4 groups and took any land they could find and claimed it under the banner of there element which became there symbol. This marked the birth of the 4 nations." Pain paused for a moment after saying all this, to give Xira a chance to ask a question or two. If she had none, he would simply continue after seeing she had nothing to say.

"Woah woah woah!!"

Xira pulled away from him catching her breath after witnessing all the vivid images. This was more than too much, she understood his beliefs and all...but at the same time..what was her role in all of this? Was she just a pawn?

"Pain, so..you are telling me that hate and jealously had caused the elements to separate and ultimately cause the peace to be non existent? Is this the bottom line of all the wars and senseless killing started?"

Taking a deep breath Xira nodded trying to psyche herself up for the rest of the teachings. The pain in this story or past seemed so...innocent and happy. Maybe in due time he would tell her what exactly happened. Then she'd get to the root of all his pain.

((Sorry for the short post...family is here and I wanna post something instead of nothing since they'll be here until the seventh.))

The image's stopped displaying in her mind for a moment as she started to become overwhelmed. She seemed to be barely able to stand. How intense it must have been for someone only 16 to see and learn what took Pain thousands of years to figure out. For all that time he had seen these things, yet here was Xira taking it all in at once. He couldn't blame her for having a hard time taking it all in at once.
The three monoliths continued there orbit around the grass swarmed piece of floating land that Pain and Xira stood upon. Each with there own aura that irradiated such a wonderful light. It was like three dim Suns surrounding you in a warming light. The Spirit World truly had it's remarkable quality's.
His face remained unflinching and vacant through it all though.
"The point is that this world is broken" He answered her. It was all he said before he would flood her mind with more images.

The next images were of the first Avatar as a child. For during these times of the Avatar training the animals and seeing the four nations rise, he was just a child. Through out it all, some of the images of the first Avatar showed an orange haired child with faint violet eyes.
"I watched as the world separated, it became violent, battles for land, resources, supplies. As the Avatar grew, he tried to help bring peace in whichever he could. He grew stronger and stronger as he continued. However as much as he wanted to help, as he grew he had become powerful, so powerful that he himself become corrupted. That was when a young man had no choice but to kill him. This did not however change what the Avatar had become. From that point on, every single Avatar that rose came with the intention to bring balance to the world" He told her as he then began to display images of different Avatar's fighting against there enemy's. Avatar's were giving food and shelter to people, they were caring for others, killing the evil lords that had corrupted the world. Each one was reincarnated, born, got stronger, fought and killed the enemy, then died, followed by a new evil that rose, following by a new Avatar that performed the same cycle. Some Avatar's couldn't beat one evil until eventually there was one that in fact was able to. Each one followed the same pattern, each one trying to obtain peace for the world. "Did you know that the Avatar that is born now is the one thousandth to be born?" He asked her as he showed her the images of all the past Avatar's, even coming up to Avatar Roku and Aang.
"After one thousand Avatar's. I will tell you that the world has not found peace. It still has it's Avatar's that come and try to bring it. Let me tell you the truth of why this is" He said to Xira before going back to the images of the first Avatar ever born.
"Once the Avatar had learned that teaching everyone the elements was the first step to hatred. He regretted it, and wanted to put a stop to it. For the rest of his life, even in corruption, he wanted nothing more then to atone for showing the world the elements" He explained to her as he showed images of the first Avatar in tears as he watched the world go to war.
"That is why every single Avatar that ever comes will always come with the idealism that they must bring balance to the world. However, if you look closely at the world, and the pattern of the Avatar that always saves the world. You will see it is, and always will be a temporary peace, it has an end, it always does."
More images came to her mind. The images of the world at war, Fire benders fighting Water benders, Earth benders fighting Air benders, all of them fighting for there own reasons. They were images of sadness though as one bender killed another, the surviving bender was just killed as well. One would fight for revenge, yet once they got it, another would fight for revenge on the one they had lost by the one that wanted revenge. It was an endless chain of hatred.
"Watch as the Avatar will continue to fight for justice, those that fight along side him will fight for justice. Yet once the Avatar defeats those that were considered evil, more just rise with the claim of fighting under a banner of peace to defeat the ones that followed the Avatar. Benders defeat benders, then non-benders who claim to fight for peace attack the benders." He said as he referenced the battle between Aang and the resistance he lead against the fire lord Ozai. Yet after peace was declared and the Avatar had fallen, the Equalists had come to defeat the benders that were thought to have been doing the right thing. The question then remained, who was right in there actions? Was there such thing as an end to this?

"They are all but men and women, driven to seek vengeance under the banner of
justice. However… if there is justice in vengeance, then justice will
breed only more vengeance… thus forging more links in a chain of hatred."
He told her as there was the very simple image of a man stabbing another with a sword as a tear flowed down his cheek. He then spoke of how his brother was finally avenged. Yet behind him came a small boy that was the son of the man who died, the boy held a dagger in his hands as he used it to stab the back of the man who's father just died.
"They're all of the same breed, after all… motives for war are of no concern. Religion, ideology, resources, land, grudges, love, or just because… No matter how pathetic the reason, it's enough to start a war. War will never cease to exist… Reasons can be thought up after the fact. Human nature pursues strife." He had told her in a voice as deep and as ominous as ever.

He then stopped the images for a moment and took a couple steps closer to Xira.
"Do you see it yet? This is a broken world. It cannot mend it's wounds. The Avatar tried to fix it, but it is the Avatar that cannot fix it. Like trying to resuscitate a dead man, it will not be healed...And it is the Avatar, that caused this and in fact continues to keep it this way constantly following the cycle of hatred. Even in this time the Avatar will find evil where it may lie, she will destroy it, but then more will rise as it has for thousands of years before. The Avatar stops the war every time." He explained to her before stopping in his tracks as he got within a few feet of her.

"Do you want to know how to truly cure this world once and for all? Creating an eternity of peace."

Ember Island Beach's Empty Re: Ember Island Beach's

Post by Guest Mon Jan 07, 2013 2:09 am

"So..this means we have to cleanse the world of the Avatar and all it's wrong doings."

Xira just stood there, it was as if a light inside her clicked on. However, that inner spirit that had yet to awake was fighting to be heard. It did not last long though when Liliana's song silenced the voice as it kept it's voice down..for now.

"I....I don't want to know anymore..can we please go back?"

Her hand grabbed his in a comforting manner, the same way she held it when the incident with the sword took place. Xira was ready to go home, to see Kano, to start formulating an option of attack and start a war soon. The added effects of exhaustion started kicking in from being in this place for far too long. The souls around seemed to weigh on her heavily..as if pleading.

Before Pain would wisk them both away back into the living world a whisper caught the sixteen year old's attention. In the distance were two airbenders, one was obviously Avatar Aang, but the other...the other looked so much like that airbender she had seen in Pain's vision.

Why reveal yourself to me...when he's standing right here?

But before Xira had a chance to blink the men vanished in thin air. As if they were nothing but a figment of her imagination.

"Can we go now..?"

The God that stood before Xira showed a faint expression. His eye's simply narrowed at her answer. She was being overwhelmed was she? Perhaps so, yet the truth was not an easy thing to grasp. She had now came to the conclusion that killing the Avatar was the way to peace. Yet...

"Kill The Avatar?" He asked her rhetorically, his voice sounding almost confused by her words.
When she reached for his hand, Pain took a step back from her to avoid her touch. The information she was being given was not easy to process, yet to draw to her conclusion of just simply killing the Avatar was not enough. He wouldn't simply let this go until she understood fully. This faith will be tested, it will be pushed, to simply believe in something as simple as killing someone was far from enough. That way of thinking would quickly be proven wrong by all the talk of justice and how killing is wrong. The humanity alone of another would be enough to shake such a weak of conviction of simply believing that death is a better solution.

"If we simply kill The Avatar then what separates us from the many others that tried to do the same? What would killing The Avatar alone accomplish but the very hatred I spoke of?" He took another step back from her, then proceeded to use Liliana's song to show her more. The image of Fire Lord Ozai, of Fire Lord Sozin, of Chin the Conqueror, of Zuko, of Azula, all of the countless others that had attacked the Avatar with the intention to kill.
"It is those very men and women that tried to kill the Avatar that we would become. In what part of simply killing someone is there justice? Where is the peace in that? All I see coming from killing the Avatar is hatred, simply forming another link in the long chain hatred" He said as he displayed images of what he had shown her before, images of people killing people, only to have more people take revenge by killing the people that once believed that were fighting for justice. The Avatar's death alone would not solve anything.
"The Avatar does need to die, but it's not her death alone that will bring peace." Pain told Xira before he paused for a moment to stop the images and have her vision remain back in where they were now.
The grassy meadow they stood on remained lush and vibrant. The 3 monoliths that circled them maintained there glow and motion.

He had to tell her what the future would hold. He could show images of what his plan was, but in this moment, it was his words that were necessary.
"This world is still young, these people are still young. The Avatar came with the intention to fix and build, yet he only destroyed. Why? The answer is simple. Limitations. The Avatar did not let humans grow naturally, instead he forced them to advance without letting them explore there limitations. Say you have a man who can't catch his food, he creates a spear. Or he can't lift the food, so he creates the wheel. Limitations, it's no different from giving a caveman the power of God and expecting him to make a second earth. It's because of this that humans were only children when they were given this power, they did not know how to use it, and it became a tool for destruction rather then a tool for peace" He explained to her before pausing for a moment.

He looked to his right to see one of the monoliths that were spinning around them. It was the red one that caught his eye for a brief moment.
"It's because of this that humans are now no longer mature enough to learn how to use the gifts they possess. So we must help them grow up...The answer as to how they grow up is pain...You see every time humans proceed to kill themselves, the Avatar stops them and gives them peace, as peace that they do not know how to maintain. It's no different from pulling a child away from candy without telling them why they can't have it. So naturally they will continue to pursue it, leaving The Avatar to constantly pull them away." He stopped and took a breath, taking a few steps to his left before stopping.
"Where the Avatar fails is in not helping the world grow from it's mistakes, instead the Avatar merely snuffs out the worlds attempts to grow and mature. This is why pain is the solution. At this point, the Avatar's actions will continue to doom humanity. So now what must be done is ultimate pain. It is through pain that we learn what to do and what not to do. It is pain that helps us grow up. It is through pain that a boy is molded into a man." He told her before paused again and looking down at his right hand. It was so smooth looking, despite all of it's years. If Pain's body had worn his age, he would be ash.
"We will start war, we will spread pain through the planet, burning this broken world. War will consume the world, many will die and the Avatar's death will serve as a symbol that the time of the Avatar is at an end, and the world will no longer be bound by it's attempts at further harming the world under a false banner of peace. This will be us fixing the world, and then once all the chaff has been seperated from the wheat, those that survive will be the ones that will experience true pain. Then it is through that pain, that they will grow numbness. Through that numbness, will spark an understanding. It is with that very understanding that will then begin to build the foundation for peace." He had told her completely, hoping she would come to fully understand.

"The world will burn, many will die, those that live, will bring peace and the death that will take place in the near future will never happen again. If we don't do this, then the world will be in an eternal conflict, you will suffer, your children will suffer for the rest of time. So it is through the ashes that will cover the world we will burn, that will spawn the peace that so many, even the Avatar has fought for." He told her before walking up towards Xira, now appearing to be more inviting unlike before when he backed away from her touch.
"This is how I will honor the Avatar, and the many others that fight for peace. There is no other way, believe me...I've tried." He said to her, seeming to act a little more...Human, with his last word.
"Will you help me bring peace Xira?"

Burn...the world? That meant innocent lives were going to be lost. Children, families, and even grandparents would perish. How could one man that wasn't God say he would spare lives he deemed worthy? Xira knew right from wrong, but at the same time her memories enlightened her on the suffering she had witnessed and experienced herself.

Would Xira really want that for her children? Or for anyone she had loved? No...it wasn't, the suffering would end here with the two giving the world a fresh start. Her eyes looked over to Pain who looked more inviting but instead of going to him she didn't move. Her body would not budge. Out of the blue she felt as if her soul was clenching her heart itself..

"I will help, on one condition...you spare the next generations lives. Children, don't touch the kids..that's all I am asking."

Thump Thump!

There it was again, the girl wanted to reach where her heart was residing and grab it. Who would have thought she'd have something inside of her fighting her choice that she made. But within a second Xira heard the soft lullaby of a woman singing. Within an instant the pinching pain subsided.

"Pain, we need to go. I do not want Kano worrying about me. I want to leave now."

Her face stayed expressionless as her honey colored eyes looked into his purple. From here on out things were going to be different.

How disturbed she must have been. She had grown up in this broken world, so naturally she would be clinging to the morality that she was force fed as a child and forced to grow up with. Pain could recall his time when he would have thought this was all crazy and would have turned down the idea without hesitation. Yet in time he had learned the truth despite how loyal he once was to the old ways of thinking.
She said she would help, while she didn't seem fully convinced, she would learn over time. A cause to become truly loyal to wasn't something that happened over night. Yet so long as she would take part then it was a start. Pain was a very patient man, after living for as long as he did, the passage of time felt very different to him then it would someone who had only lived for a mere 16 years, or even 100 years.
Her request however was one he nodded his head to.
"The next generation will feel what it's like to live in true peace, none of there lives will be wasted. I promise you that" He told her truthfully. This plan of peace was in fact meant to make the generation be at the peace he has worked for.
She did have to leave now though, he didn't want her to be exposed to this place for too long.

He lifted his right hand up, causing his sleeve to fall so she could see his hand and forearm. Then with a simple snap of his fingers and a blink of his eye's, they suddenly found themselves back on the beach.
He stayed in place so he could let her take a moment to get her bearing and realize they were back in the real world. Once she would collect herself Pain would speak.
"2 years from now we will begin the process of cleansing this world. I will start off with burning the Southern Water Tribe, the current Avatar's homeland. Once that's done you will speak to The Fire Lord to begin the that I will start. There should be a reply from The Earth Nation once this is done, I will intercept them and bring them against the Fire Nation which will commence the war" He explained to her before she would leave back to her home.

Despite knowing how ruined this world was, he would wait two years to let her prepare herself. She would have time to enjoy her life the way it was before it would all change.

"Once you here about how The Southern Water tribe is destroyed, you can begin your part of the plan. It will be your signal" He said as he found himself looking back at the water of the beach, and feeling the cool air of the night sky.
He would let himself in the environment again with a silent deep breath. He would let her say her goodbyes from here, or ask any questions she might have.

Xira stayed silent the entire time, the teenager was listening but her body was too busy screaming at her for being here too long. It had only been a few seconds and the battering of her eye lids for her to smile just a tad when realizing they had made it out of the spirit world.

"Much better.."

It was then that Kano had picked up her scent once more and rushed over to her aid. By then Xira was sitting on the sand just looking at the ocean view. Two years of happiness left before the real deal would begin..it seemed so close yet so far away. Being too tired to stand up as Kano stood beside her she laughed a little remembering something from her childhood.

"I will see you soon Pain. You take care of yourself."

That would be when Kano wrapped his tail around Xira, picking her up, then set her on his back with his tail wrapped securely around her. That way she could not fall off because of her exhaustion to hold onto him.

(I think this will be a good end)

Standing on the beach he stayed quiet as he viewed the ocean waves. Xira had said her goodbye to him and it wasn't soon after that she departed. He did not reply when she told him to take care of himself. He let himself have a moment however. He took in a deep breath through his nose and he exhaled through his mouth. He felt calm now, yes that breath of air was something needed.
Although his body has been largely changed by the spirit world, he was once fully human and some trace amounts of what that means still exist. He still breathes for one, and can feel more relaxed upon getting a breath of fresh air.
He was ever aware of what it was like to be human. It was why he would wait two years. It wasn't apart of some larger plan, this wait, not at all. It was for Xira, it was so he could give her time. Because no matter how much she might have realized that this world was terrible, it was still her home...And even a world as foolish as this deserves a proper goodbye.

Xira would be the only that could prepare for the beginning of the end. It was a luxury that no one else would have. He hoped she would enjoy it, for everything she knew would be lost very soon.
